Nora’s teaching practice focuses on cultivating playfulness, curiosity, and an accessible learning space. They enjoy being able to meet participants' physical and mental needs to be most present in class while delivered high quality instruction to technique.
My love and admiration for dance comes from many places including a belief that dance is for everybody. I've been fortunate to teach movement beyond the dance studio and in a wide variety of community-based classes. This includes facilitation in senior community, assisted living, and in memory care; elementary schools; and a variety of conditioning and exercise classes combining strength training with aerobic dance. My primary teaching mentors are Rachel Kimball at Tanner Dance, and Juan Carlos Claudio and John Allen at Minding Motion for Graceful Aging. Co-teaching with Rachel Kimball, I was introduced to Terry Goetz’s BrainDance and learned how to clearly communicate with dancers in various developmental stages. With Juan and John, I was encouraged to lean into my playful and theatrical teaching self. Today, I continue refining my teaching practice with trauma informed care and somatics to help regulate my more anxious students in the studio.
